Sorry, didn't mean to send that twice - the other one was SLAVE TO LOVE...wish I was more computer literate to correct....
i have recently joined after spending over 12 months lurking reading posts and evaluating/digesting the truth about the truth.
i learned all about ray franz here and after reading both of his books feel a great deal of appreciation toward the man for what i can only describe as a labour of love on his part.. .
(romans 9:1) how, though, can we make sure that our conscience is in harmony with jehovahs holy spirit?
Welcome Lukewarm!
When I first read the title of your post I thought it was a new version of the comments you will NOT hear at the WT study - but I see it is the Congregation Bible Study - a most mis-named meeting if ever there was one. The folks STILL are NOT studying the Bible free of the WT's mind-control, it is still a BOOK STUDY no matter what the WT calls it; just more WT indoctrination now marketed as 'Bible study'. At least in the past they were honest enough to call it what it was. Thanks for your efforts!
I would like to add my WELCOME to all the new ones!
first thanks to all for this board and forum and all the stories, information and thoughts that are shared.
i have been a lurker now for almost a year, and now that newbies can get on board, here i am.. here's my story.
baptized at 15 and made ministerial servant by 19. my father, mother, siblings and entire side of my mother's family are jehovah's witnesses.
Very inspirational story. Thanks so much for sharing. It is what I would love to be able to do but cannot yet bring myself to do. WELCOME to the board!
The more of these stories that are being told, it does seem like it is becoming a phenomenon. If this trend gathers momentum, I fear the cult's days are numbered. Well, not fear, more like cheer!
as an ex jw, i found that the faithful and discreet slave class (fdsc) was paramount in the make up of that religion.. prior to disfellowshiping anyone, the elders would question your loyalty to the (fdsc), disprove the existence of this class and the whole credibility of that religion collapses, remember this hinges on just three verses in math.24 v45-48.
imagine a scenario; the elders are confronting you with this dilemma, what would your argument be, against the authenticity of this class.. i know there are many on this site that could answer this very well, i know of two ladies who could put a convincing answer.. to hear your comments could greatly help many who frequent this site, that find themselves on the fringes of that religion.. kt.

Well, I am certain I have both of those bound volumes which I will have at the ready, bookmarked TO THE PAGE if ever confronted with the question of my loyalty to the fds. There is no way to squirm around those quotes. If one is true, the other cannot be and vice versa. Sweet and bitter water bubbling out of the same stream for sure. THANK YOU AGAIN for all your research!

Mary, that is one hell of a good answer - got to remember that one!
scientists are hoping to activate genes in chickens that were active in dinosaurs.
does anyone know when the last revision to the new world translation was released?.
i seriously wonder if there are any qualified bible translators left at brooklyn or patterson.
that is assuming that there ever were any there in the first place.. there might not be anyone qualified in the watchtower organization to make any revisions at all.. the watchtower today wants lawyers, accountants and construction engineers, not people trained in biblical languages!.
Too damn long ago!
Interesting comment about the NWT at this site:
http://www.bible-researcher.com/kutilek1.html - just search New World Translation
are anymore people attending meetings due to the bad economic condition of the world right now?
from what i read here i don't think they are.
if they can't grow in this environment i think they will even get smaller when things get good again.
Alpaca, I noticed that at my old KH as well.
All it means is that family members come separately; all the young ones have their own vehicle. In some instances, the brothers come early to open up the bookstore, etc...wives roll in just before the opening song in the other vehicle. More cars, less people. Looks impressive from the outside. Inside is a different story, though - tons of empty seats, mostly at the front!
